ED O.B.'S EXTRA POINTS ON THE HS DIVISION

QUARTERBACK ALPHA DOG: ROBERT LONG

There were over 100 quarterbacks at the event. So, there is still a lot to unpack from that part of the event via film study. There is no doubt that Robert Long had the strongest performance of any quarterback at the event. There were a few others on his heels including Braxton Baker and Parker Leise. Long is cool, calm, and confident in his abilities. His overall mechanics, footwork, arm strength, and touch on his passes were on display all weekend.

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN ALPHA DOG: SAMSON OKUNLOLA

The only thing that would've stopped Samson Okunlola from winning the MVP award would've been lack of effort. He has elite body composition with lean mass and a well-proportioned frame. In other words, he definitely passes the eye test. He showed explosiveness, drive, great lateral movement, balance, excellent usage of hands, and overall great athletic ability. Okunlola was consistent throughout the camp whether it was individual drills or 1v1's.

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN MVP ALPHA DOG: AARIS BETHEA

Bethea won MVP over a good number of talented defensive linemen. He consistently got lower than the offensive linemen he went against and rarely lost ground to power. Bethea has a quick first step and showed active hands which helped him separate from linemen who were trying to block him. I was impressed with him being young and having a rush plan a set of go-to moves during the 1v1's.
