The National Radar takes a look at some of the Class of 2025 Florida High School running backs that made some noise during their first year of varsity football. This list will continue to grow in the upcoming months as prospects hit the camp and 7v7 circuit in the upcoming months.
Byron Louis | 6-1 | 190 | American Heritage
2021 Stats: 28 carries for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns
Louis played in a backup role for his team this season but that has not stopped FBS schools from offering him a scholarship. Georgia, Indiana, Miami (FL), South Florida, and Syracuse have already offered Louis. You get a glimpse of why schools are offering him early when you watch some of his highlights. I’m impressed with him as both a runner and a receiver out of the backfield. He has a north-south running style and hits the hole quickly out of the blocks. You get a glimpse of how Louis’ high school will use in the screen game when watching his highlights. I am pretty sure the fact that he also plays 7v7 plays a big role in his development as a pass-catcher.
Deandre Designor | 5-9 | 170 | North Broward Prep
2021 Season Stats: 128 carries for 566 yards and 7 touchdowns in nine games. He also caught 5 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns.
Designor is no longer a secret in the college football recruiting world. He received FBS offers from both Maryland and Florida International this week.
Corey Hill | 5-8 | 155 | Father Lopez
2021 Season Stats: 82 carries for 831 yards and 7 touchdowns in 9 games, 10.1 ypc.
Hill loves to hit the corner and use his speed to outrun everybody. He’s another back that hits the hole very quickly and is able to get on top of tacklers as the second level before cutting.
Deveon Simmons | 6-1 | 205 | Gateway Charter
58 carries for 607 yards and 5 touchdowns in 9 games. He also caught 10 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. Simmons made his mark on defense too with 48 total tackles (27 solo).
Keenon Johnson | 5-11 | 180 | Newberry
2021 Season Stats: 117 carries for 746 yards and 7 touchdowns in 10 games, 6.4 ypc. He also caught 11 passes for 101 yards.
Keveun Mason | 5-10 | 185 | Lake Placid
2021 Season Stats: 100 carries for 690 yards and 11 touchdowns in 10 games, 6.9 ypc. Mason returned 7 kicks for 237 yards and averaged 33.9 yards per return in the process.
Taevion Swint | 5-10 | 180 | Osceola
2021 Season: 85 carries for 612 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. Florida and Florida State have both offered Swint. He has plenty of speed and will be dangerous as both a receiver and kick returner. The way he is quick to find acceleration is an eye opener.
