Payton Travis, a 5’10", 175-pound running back for New Plymouth High School, is eager to showcase his skills at the Boise Dream Football Classic. Known for his good vision, hard work, and high motor, Payton has established himself as a key offensive weapon for his team. As a member of the Class of 2025, he’s determined to make the most of this season and lead his team to success.
Inspired by His Brothers
Payton’s love for football began in the third grade, inspired by his older brothers, all of whom were football players. Watching them play motivated Payton to follow in their footsteps, and he has been passionate about the game ever since.
"I started playing in the third grade because all of my brothers were football players, and I wanted to be like them," Payton explains. "Ever since then, I have been all about it."
This early influence has driven Payton to work hard and continuously improve as a running back, and he’s ready to take his game to the next level this season.
Goals for the Season: Breaking Records and Making Playoffs
Payton has set ambitious goals for both himself and his team. On a personal level, he’s aiming to break school records and earn All-State honors, showing just how dedicated he is to becoming one of the best in the state.
"I want to break records at my school and be All-State," Payton says.
For his team, Payton’s goal is simple: have a successful season, make it to the playoffs, and compete for a state championship. "I want my team to have a good record and make it to the playoffs this year, and eventually state," he adds.
A Responsible and Hardworking Student
In the classroom, Payton is known for his work ethic and responsibility. His teachers would describe him as hardworking, respectful, and dependable, qualities that make him a standout student-athlete.
"My teachers would say that I am hardworking, respectful, respectable, and responsible," Payton notes.
Excitement for the Boise Dream Football Classic
The chance to play at Albertsons Stadium is a thrilling opportunity for Payton, who is eager to make a statement on the blue turf and help his team come out with a win.
"I am thrilled to be receiving the opportunity to play on the blue," Payton shares. "I hope my team comes out with a win, and I want to make a statement."
With his vision, determination, and leadership, Payton Travis is ready to take on the Boise Dream Football Classic and lead New Plymouth to success this season.
