What led you to building your own program?
“I have been involved with the game of basketball in some shape or form for over 30 years now. I have always been a proponent of teaching more fundamental skills and situational training, and when I saw the play of kids in my area I decided to act. Another reason I started my own basketball program was to make sure that the less fortunate could afford to learn from someone with my knowledge.”
What are the biggest challenges and how do you overcome them?
"Since moving from the Carolina's my biggest challenge has been to get my newer hometown to accept that not all AAU teams are built the same in a negative way, just like I tell them not all High School teams are."
Tell us about your program? What age groups and tournaments do you play in?
"My program has 1 H.S. girl's team, 1 H.S. boy's team and a 5th grade girls team that I plan on taking to the Jr NBA in 2022. We mainly stick to Reebok Series based out of MO and MAYB tournaments with a few we also attend here in South Dakota. We actually travel from South Dakota to other states as far as Tennessee!"
Do have a system or style of play that you prefer?
"Our teams run a lot of Pick N Roll, Dribble Drive Motion and of course fast break when we can with a secondary fast break included at all times."
What do you consider a successful season?
"A successful season is when we meet our preseason goals."
What quote do you look to for personal or team inspiration?
My own quote, "Look to transform the hesitant and unknown into the confident and known."
