Cole Raeuchle, a 6'1", 164-pound kicker from Scottsboro High School in Alabama, has proven himself to be a dependable and talented player on special teams. Known for his hard work, good speed, and high motor, Cole’s coachable nature and dedication to improvement have made him an invaluable part of his team.
A Kicking Career Born from Opportunity Cole’s journey in football began during his freshman year, when his friends encouraged him to try out as a kicker for the team. Although he was new to the sport, Cole quickly discovered a passion for kicking and embraced the challenge. Working closely with a private kicking coach, who himself was a walk-on at Auburn University, Cole developed his skills and technique. Under his coach’s guidance, Cole has grown into a record-setting kicker, breaking multiple school records and earning numerous accolades.
A Record-Setting Season Cole’s 2023 season was one to remember. He set two school records: the most consecutive PATs all-time and the most PATs scored all-time. His ability to deliver under pressure and his consistency on the field earned him 1st Team All-Region honors in 2023 and All-Region Honorable Mention in 2024. Additionally, Cole was recognized by the Alabama High School Athletic Association as a Spotlight Player nine times over the past two seasons, further cementing his reputation as a reliable and impactful player.
Overcoming Challenges Despite his success, Cole has faced unique challenges, such as difficulty finding a consistent holder for his kicks. However, his adaptability and determination have allowed him to overcome these obstacles and continue to perform at a high level. His ability to deliver kickoffs into the end zone when needed has made him a valuable asset to Scottsboro High School.
Academic Excellence Cole is equally dedicated to his academics, consistently maintaining good grades and earning praise from his teachers for his optimism, determination, and bright personality. Teachers describe him as a motivated learner who is not only focused on his own success but also helps foster a positive environment in the classroom.
Goals for the Future As Cole looks ahead to the next season, his personal goals include improving his consistency and stepping into a leadership role on the team. On a broader scale, Cole and his teammates are determined to make it past the second round of the playoffs, where they were eliminated last season by Ramsay High School.
